How to Make a Profit from the Trash to Treasure Event

1.Introduction

The Trash to Treasure event is an in-game event that will be running until September 15th. During this event, you will be able to use Smelters that appear at various points on all maps on the lockdown, forbidden and hostile sector. These can be used to combine 3 miscellaneous items into higher tier and more valuable loot up to three times per raid.

Before we proceed, it must be stated that while we have tried many different combinations of items with different values and rarities, we cannot be completely sure of the exact numbers as we do not have access to the internal values used.

2.The Core Mechanics (Value Thresholds & Duplicates)

There are a few factors that affect the outcome of your smelting. First is the rarity of the items used; you can use miscellaneous items of all rarities for this event. However, it usually isn’t worth using items lower than purple rarity. This brings us to the second factor that is important, which is the total Koen value of the items you smelt. Smelting items below 45k Koen will have the potential to result in you receiving a cheap purple item.

Therefore, it is recommended that you only smelt items worth a total of 45k Koen or higher. Smelting items worth 200k or more Koen will give you the chance to receive one red item, while smelting items worth 300k or more will give you the chance to receive one of two red items.

If you smelt three gold items, then you will have the chance to receive one of three red items regardless of the value of the items you use.

And the last factor affecting your outcome is the specific items you use to smelt. If you smelt three of the exact same purple item and the items have a total Koen value of 45k or higher, you will have a chance to receive the S6 collectible item “Luminous Rose”. And if you smelt three identical gold items, you will have the chance to receive one of five different red items.

3.What You Should Do (Best Combinations)

Before you start smelting, you should decide if you want guaranteed profit or the chance at a red item.

If you want guaranteed profit, you should check whether or not you can craft the current limited-time item. These items will have a specific formula consisting of three items that will guarantee the item. These items are always profitable and therefore should always be your first consideration.

If you can’t craft the limited-time item, you should always combine 3 items with a total value of approximately 45k Koen every raid. It is also recommended to smelt three identical items whenever you can for the chance of getting the “Luminous Rose”.

If you want to try your luck at getting a red item, you have to check for a couple of different things. First of all, if you have three of the same gold item, you should smelt them together. If you can’t smelt three identical gold items, you should smelt any three gold items instead. If you don’t have three gold items, then you should try to reach 300k Koen value or 200k at the minimum. If you cannot reach 200k, you do not have any chance at getting a red item and should consider smelting lower value items for profit instead.

Remember, you get three smelt attempts per raid. Meaning that even if you do not have the materials for a red smelt initially, you might be able to receive those materials by smelting lower value items first.

4.TL;DR / Mentor's Advice

The most valuable thing you can do is to smelt three identical items. If you can’t, prioritise three items worth 45k Koen as the chances of receiving a red from the smelter are low. The rarity and Koen value of the items you smelt change the potential of the result. It is recommended that you take advantage of this event while playing hostile sector especially, as you can collect items to smelt much more freely. Enjoy your profits!
