How To Find Chaotic Matter in Arena Breakout Infinite
Learn how to find Chaotic Matter, master the Deep Distortion event mechanics, and survive the distorted wastes of Valley in Arena Breakout: Infinite.

The Season 5 update has brought a new item to the land of Kamona: The Chaotic Matter. While items like the Secret Document have historically been the most desirable items in the game, The Chaotic Matter has caught the attention of many operators in the player base.
Required for hardcore-tier faction missions and boasting an incredibly slim drop rate, hunting down Chaotic Matter requires a deep understanding of the specialized Distortion Valley map. The season brought many changes to the beloved map, drastically changing it with new unique abilities, strange anomalies, and many more. It even comes with a unique localized loot pool with items exclusively available in this distorted game mode.
This comprehensive guide breaks down exactly how you can get your hands on this extraordinary item, how to master the Deep Distortion event mechanics, and other tips on how to survive on Valley.
What even is the Chaotic Matter?
Chaotic Matter is a red-tier collectible exclusive to the temporary event variants of the Valley map. Unlike standard items that can be found spread across Kamona, Chaotic Matter is strictly bound to the Distortion game mode. Outside of it being a valuable item with quite a high price tag, its primary value lies in Hardcore Faction Progress. Progression is entirely halted for late-game players until they can successfully locate and safely extract with this ridiculously rare red item.
How to Find Chaotic Matter
The Chaotic Matter has some unique properties tied to the way of obtaining it. First, you must drop into either Distortion Valley (Lockdown) or Deep Distortion Valley (Forbidden). Your chances of being able to obtain this item are much greater in the "Forbidden" mode for Valley because of its higher loot spawns and safe locations. Normal raids will not feature the specialized loot containers required to spawn the item.
There are 3 different ways to try to obtain this rare and unique item:
1. Safes
Like any other red item, the chance of finding this in safes is incredibly slim. While the odds of hitting a drop like this are very low, you never know what kind of goodies you might pull from them. The exact same rules apply to locked rooms with safes; it all comes down to luck.
There are plenty of safes scattered all around the map, but areas with the most safes in a short distance from each other are the Small Factory and Beach Villa.
- Beach Villa: Has a total of 4 safes and a small safe. The small safe is on the car in the garage. 2 normal safes are on the second floor of the first building and the second floor of the open area in the back. There are also 2 locked rooms: one electronic safe in the locked room on the second floor of the middle building, and right below it on the first floor a normal safe behind yet another locked door.
- Small Factory: Only houses 1 free safe and a small safe. The small safe is in the top office next to the PC, and there is a timed safe in the basement. The 2 locked rooms both house a normal safe, with some other lootable containers scattered all throughout the basement of this place.
2. Echo Orbs
Echo Orbs are mysterious black blobs that react to nearby player movement. They have distinct audio clues when you are within range. You can resonate with echo orbs by getting close to them and interacting. After you finish interacting, you will be awarded an amount of loot based on the size of the echo orb. You need to be careful to always check the area before resonating with one of these Orbs because you will be stuck in an animation throughout the whole period of the resonating.
These Orbs come in 3 different sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The small and medium orbs are scattered all over the map. The only indicators of their locations are the noises they make once you are within a short distance. The big orbs, on the other hand, spawn only after the first and second ring of the bell at the 30 and 23 minute mark.
Special icons will appear on your map, and you will be able to see every single orb that got spawned in by the chimes of the bell. Be aware that everyone sees the locations of these orbs and they take quite some time to resonate. Approach them with utmost caution and only resonate once you are in the clear.
3. Devotion Statues
Devotion Statues are your best bet when trying to get your hands on good loot, including the Chaotic Matter and other red valuables. These altars are at fixed locations throughout the map. Some are more hidden than others, and it takes approximately 25 seconds to fully complete a statue.
When you interact with a statue, you will start to lose health and the statue will start gaining stacks. The maximum number of stacks the statue can reach is 10. It is highly recommended to complete the full statue and let the counter count up to 10 as that will award the maximum amount of loot. In Lockdown, they yield much less valuable loot as opposed to the kind of loot you can get in Forbidden. Interacting with a statue will cause you to take a lot of damage, so clearing the area of respective altars before committing to it is a must.
- By using the sprawling ability on a teammate, the damage you receive can be mitigated entirely.
- Taking a lot of water is highly recommended since dehydration can be an issue if you try to use every statue on the map.
- If you plan on devoting at all the altars on the map, you will need a total of 2000 health in medkits to heal yourself.
Conclusion
Hunting down Chaotic Matter in the distorted wastes of Valley is not for the weak-minded. It is a high-stakes, high-reward journey that demands a lot of determination and commitment. Your journey might end quickly or it could take you countless raids, plenty of player encounters, and fights, but in the end, it's all about your mindset and achieving what you set out to achieve.
